Beginners Classes

N.Z. Yoga’s new 'Stretch-Strength' beginners classes have been designed to give you a gradual ‘step by step’ introduction into the effective use of Yoga asanas as  dynamic stretching and strengthening exercises or postures. The classes are designed to promote flexibility, toning, strength and stamina, with improved circulation, breath control, and stress management.

A short, but powerful, positive affirmation meditation is taught at the start of each class as a centering tool to take you into the ancient life-extending practice of Pranayama (breath control); and every practice workout is completed with Savasana, the deepest and most effective form of restorative relaxation known today.

The Beginner's Class cards are valid for 21 days, with a choice of classes from 7 days a week. There's no need to book just choose your first class and we'll take you from there.

* You will need to bring your own mat or you can hire one of our fabulous non-PVC (free of heavy metals) non-slip rubber mats at $2.00 per class all other  equipment is provided. 

Mornings - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 10 am and Sunday at 11 am.

Evenings - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at 6 pm.

Please note NZ Yoga does not have eft pos or a credit card facility so class fees are payable with cash or cheque.

*If you have a knee, hip or back injury or a medical condition then having a one-on-one class will be a good place to start getting back into improving your fitness and health once again. Before starting our beginners classes see 'one-on-one' on our sub menu in the right column of this page.

Parking:- You can park at the Warehouse - the first hour is free and then $2.00 for every hour after that.  If you are parked at the Warehouse tell the teacher so that you can get away in time, as sometimes the class goes over one an a half hours.
